Boser, Sister Katharina, School Sisters of Notre Dame
Died at Notre Dame Convent Waterdown ON on July 4, 2010 in her 71st year as a School Sister of Notre Dame. Predeceased by her parents Anton and Caroline (Bosch) as well as her brothers, Joseph(infant), Andrew, Paul, Donatus, Anton, Wendelin, Ferdinand, Alphonse, Rev. John OMI, and Clement and her sister Brigetta Kletzel. Lovingly remembered by the members of her religious community especially by her sister, Sister Julianne SSND, her sister Elizabeth Birn, her brothers Joseph and Jerome, nieces and nephews.
Sister Katharina began her 42 years of community service as homemaker in the Motherhouse in Waterdown. She also served in convents in Kitchener, Cambridge, Hamilton, Oakville, Toronto, Newmarket and in her native Saskatchewan – Handel, Salt Lake, Leipzig, Wilkie and Saskatoon. In 1981 Sister Katharina was involved in pastoral work in Owen Sound. Later, in Unity and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan she visited the sick and elderly. Sister Katharina found time in her busy schedule to create numerous crafts She was especially noted for her beautiful hand stitched quilts. In 2000 she retired to our Motherhouse in Waterdown.
Visitors will be received at Notre Dame Convent on Wednesday, July 7 from 2:00 – 4:00pm and 7:00 – 9:00pm
Prayer service will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 3:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 8 at 10:30am at Notre Dame Convent, 1921 Snake Road, Waterdown, ON. Interment at Notre Dame Convent Cemetery.
