Sherk, Ferne Viola
On August 28, 2010, at St. Peter’s Hospital, Ferne Viola Sherk, nee Awde, born January 12, 1919, reunited with the love of her life, Cec, (March 14, 2001); married for almost 60 years, they shared a unique and lasting partnership. Ferne set the bar high in all that she did; loving parent and grandparent; loyal friend; accomplished homemaker, seamstress, gardener and fisher. Her sense of humour and snappy comebacks made family legend. Her concern for others’ well being was always paramount. Left to love and miss her deeply are son, William and daughter-in-law, Donalda, of Stirling, ON; daughter, Gloria and son-in-law, Gerald Massi, of Brantford, ON; grandchildren and great grandchildren. Predeceased by parents, and three brothers. As per Ferne’s wishes, a private family burial at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens has taken place. Our thanks to the staff of St. Peter’s Hospital for the excellent care provided during Mother’s brief stay. To CAP, CBI and VON, you made her wish to be at home possible.
